Dear Playstation Network owners,
Tired of having your account under restricted access? Want to be able to use your PSN at its full potential ? Well turn 18 and you’re set!
Sony has announced that PlayStation 4 owners who have a PSN sub account can now upgrade to a master account. Keeping in mind, it doesn’t only work for PS4 owners, this also works for those with a PS3 and PSVITA. However, the twist is, in order to upgrade the owner has to have turned 18. Before that these owners could only have access to a sub account, which had various parental controls attached and managed access to buying goods on the PlayStation Store. There are more limited features as well through sub accounts, like messages, monthly spending limits, and gameplay broadcasts.
Here’s the problem that PSN sub account users faced. When they turned 18 and were legally free to buy their own goods and consume mature content, they still had a sub account to deal with.
Finally, a bunch of requests later, Sony revised the PSN software platform so that sub accounts can upgrade to master accounts. This grants users full control of their console as oppose to dealing with sub accounts at all. Some of the things that will be carried over are users’ full profiles, their friends lists and trophies.
Are you a victim of a sub account? Well when the time comes, here are the Instructions on how to start the upgrade process through the web.
This is good and all but, here’s my thought, how about them name changes?
